1.
Figurehead 04:53
I met you in a future tense while I was on the run from all that binds me to the past, what presently is numb. I found you in my penmanship and set sail for the sun, and swallowed down the alphabet to fuel my journey home. And I’m still sailing on. I met you in a passing glance that failed to recognize a truth that only time would tell, verses within eyes. I kissed away the stoic stare that left you paralyzed to take on all that I could bare, flooding from your mind. The sea I’m sailing on. I met you in a waking dream. Did you become the guide? And in the night you take the helm and show me that you’re wise. Braving storms until they break, remaining pacified. Steering me from siren shores and settling with the tide. Keeps me sailing on.

I Will Wait 03:20
In a dream where she had flown, speaks to me in a warm tone, asks me to go alone out into the yard. To get away from the power lines, cell phone towers, and bad design, to cut across the forest pine, avoiding all the cars. I will wait for you just beyond the moon. Take a right at your mother’s grave through the plots of the unsaved. Dance with ghosts along the way, they’ll know who you are. Surround yourself in the dark of night, almost there but not quite - take the chance and you just might, finish what you start. I will wait for you just beyond the moon.
3.
I’ve been tired of waiting and I’m still debating what to make of this life. How do you keep going without ever knowing it will turn out alright? Question you answer, pencil to paper, like hand to the eye, your beautiful mind. Forward thinker, do you stop to wonder why? I get so loaded up with convictions, that’s how I spend my time. Time to get acquainted. Time to make a difference or stay dissatisfied. Question you answer, pencil to paper, like hand to the eye, your beautiful mind. Forward thinker, do you stop to wonder why?

Careful 04:33
Do you see me now? I’m different than before. I’m not so reserved, I’m not so sure that you would even mind if I came by tonight. I haven’t had enough but I won’t ask for more, or the lack there of, of the lack therefore, just like my lack of metaphor. Be careful kid with your careful kiss. I haven’t been here long. I haven’t even tried to focus on your face or read what’s on your mind. I guess that says it all, I’m all out of time. I think I get the hint, pardon my absence. I won’t reminisce. I’ll leave you with this, be careful kid with your careful kiss.

All I Want 03:49
Forget the last time I made a huge mistake. I get a few tries, don’t I? To nail it into place. Tell me that you dare to find me bored at 25 and lonely. Careless as I am I should be on my way to finding what I need. I don’t want anything more than all I want is anything more than this is all I want. This is the first time I have no complaint. What do I find? To my surprise I still live day to day. Tell me that you care to see me 25 and looking healthy. Careless as I am I should be on my way to finding what I need. I don’t want anything more than all I want is anything more than this is all I want.
6.
My own insecurity it haunts me, baby. From one day to the same I keep hiding my shame looking for someone else to blame. My own insecurity it kills me daily. I thought I had it made but I keep feeling it flame looking for someone else to blame. My own insecurity it hurts me, baby. It’s hard to mend the pain but I just can’t keep it tame. Why do I keep looking for someone else to blame?

The Struggle 03:22
Movement forward, Moving on. I’ve been struggling to make it through what you might call a breeze. I’ve been thinking that you would come to find me obsolete. I’ve been patient but patience doesn’t make a job complete, and my complacence meets me at the start of every week. Movement forward, moving on. It’s been a long time since I started thinking back on all these takes and I realize that I’m bound to make several more mistakes. And the fine lines that cover up the parts that I’ve replaced just give me more time to drown in all my idealistic ways. Movement forward, moving on. In the movement of the moment when I find a reason why. In the movement of the moment when I finally feel alive. In the movement of the moment when I believe that I’m alright. In the movement of the moment, when a song is realized.
8.
I guess I’m tired of losing sleep, of chasing dreams. I guess it’s time to pack it in. Goodbye, old friend. I’ll see you when I see you again. I guess I lied, I forfeit the fight. I know now I can’t win. I don’t know why I never tried to make it better. I hope you feel better, man. I’ll see you when I see again.
9.
This is fiction of it’s own kind. Intuition, it comes from your mind. You got your way after several tries, what did you have to prove? It took forty days and forty lies but looks like you pulled through. You made it and now what will you do to stay here? They’re all counting on you. This is the credit that you deserve; a merit badge with many stars you are way above the curve. People respect you in foreign lands, they even know your name. You get to shake their foreign hands with currency you exchange. You made it and now what will you do to stay here? They’re all counting on you.
10.
On the run you might find they are different than you and I.Heavy eyes, deeper thoughts, greater distance to walk. Where sinners don’t claim to be and for you they feel pity. Where tortured souls walk the earth. We are children giving birth to a thought, an idea, we’re just one turn of the wheel. In the night it’s begun, aren’t you glad you’re leaving home? This is life on the run. Get away while you’re young, learn what it means to be from all the towns where they go numb and bless the days where no changes come. Fall asleep just to dream, you could make it out with me, if you’re ready. This is life on the run. Take me in or lead me on, for the love of something real, forward motion with the wheel. In the night thy will be done, every sinner knows the sun. This is life on the run.
